How Is Hurricane Irene Affecting Your Workout Plans?

Hurricane Irene

I was planning on participating in the Ride ‘Round Rhody bike-a-thon fundraiser this Sunday, August 28, but since Hurricane Irene is supposed to hit Rhode Island on that very day, it has forced the event organizers to make some adjustments, changing the ride to Saturday, August 27 instead.

As Ride ‘Round Rhody co-founders Dani and Jacob Brier wrote in an email to participants:

August 27th is the day on which RRR has the best chance at success. We know it is not ideal for everybody – including us – but we’re asking YOU to help us make lemonade!

I love lemonade – and my Saturday was free anyway – so I have no problem changing my plans and riding one day earlier.

But it made me wonder: Is the impending hurricane affecting your workout plans this weekend?

Maybe you had a long run planned… or an outdoor yoga class… or a bike ride… or a tennis match… or a triathlon… or maybe you had already planned to take a spin class at the gym.

In any case, let us know in the poll!
